New York Attorney General Letitia James has been providing housing to two relatives with felony convictions in properties she owns in Virginia - one of them has an active warrant, according to a report by the New York Post
The revelations come as James is facing mortgage fraud investigations on those homes.

James' grand-niece, Cayla Thompson-Hairston, 21, who operates an OnlyFans account and has an explicit social media presence, faced charges for allegedly lying about her criminal history on a form while trying to purchase a firearm in Suffolk, Virginia.

Court records indicate she was banned from owning a gun because of a previous felony conviction for malicious wounding—a Virginia offense involving intentional bodily injury with intent to maim, disfigure, disable, or kill.

She was a juvenile at the time, so the records of that case are sealed.
In 2019, when Cayla was 15 years old, she and her older sister Nakia Thompson, 36 who is a wanted fugitive, started committing crimes together.

Both Thompson-Hairston and Thompson live in James-owned homes in Norfolk that are part of James' mortgage fraud investigations.

James was indicted earlier this month on charges of bank fraud and making false statements to a financial institution.
She faces up to 60 years in prison.

Cesar Agusto Martin Reis, a 28-year-old illegal migrant from Brazil living in Connecticut, was sentenced to federal prison for his role as the ringleader.

Reis pleaded guilty on Friday to conspiring to obtain over 1,000 driver's licenses for ineligible illegal migrant applicants, with more than 600 of those fraudulent credentials successfully issued by the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV).

His operation, spanning multiple states including New York, took advantage of the lenient democrat licensing rules and turned it into a pipeline for identity fraud.
