Keith Porter Jr. was shot by an ICE agent on New Year's Eve in Los Angeles.

His death was quickly pegged as 'racial injustice' with activists and main stream media immediately labeling it as a "m*rder of an unarmed black man"

However, it turns out that Porter had an AR-15 and was shooting it in a crowded apartment complex - which is illegal. When the ICE agent approached him and told him to stop shooting the weapon, Porter turned it on the agent and fired off three shots .
It happened at the Village Pointe Apartments in Northridge, in the San Fernando Valley.

According to DHS the ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officer, who lived in the complex, was inside his apartment when he heard multiple gunshots - getting louder and louder.

The last time law enforcement shot and killed a woman in Minneapolis - It was Justine Damond

Fast Fact: The last time law enforcement shot and killed a woman in Minneapolis - It was Justine Damond - a white woman who was killed by a Somali migrant officer. No widespread protests erupted.

In 2017 - Damond, a 40-year-old white woman engaged to be married, called 911 to report that she heard a rape taking place. When police arrived, Damond - who was unarmed and dressed in her pajamas walked out to the responding officers.

That's when Officer Mohamed Noor—a Somali migrant hired as part of efforts to diversify the force—shot and kalled her.
Details:

Damond' made two 911 calls reporting screams and potential distress in an alley behind her south Minneapolis residence.
Officers Noor and his partner, Matthew Harrity, arrived in a squad car with their body cameras turned off—a violation of department policy that raised immediate red flags about transparency.

According to investigative reports, a loud noise startled the officers as Damond approached the driver's side window.

Noor, who was in the passenger seat, fired a single shot across his partner, hitting Damond in the abdomen.
She died at the scene.

Noor, who joined the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) in 2015 as its first Somali migrant officer in the Fifth Precinct, was later convicted of third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in 2019.
He served 3 years for her murder.
Prosecutors argued Noor acted with a "depraved mind" and showed indifference to human life.

The "Public Stewardship" Policy

In January 2026, newly-inaugurated New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is facing significant backlash following controversial appointments and the implementation of aggressive housing policies that critics argue will "block" property sales.

The "Public Stewardship" Policy
The controversy stems from Mamdani's "public stewardship" proposal, which seeks to identify "negligent" landlords and force them to negotiate property sales to the city if they cannot pay fines for housing violations.

Seizure of Private Property: During his first week in office, Mamdani announced "precedent-setting" action to intervene in the bankruptcy sale of a Brooklyn apartment building, aiming to prevent its sale to private investors.

COPA Implementation: Critics on social media and outlets like 77 WABC claim the admin is using a version of the Community Opportunity to Purchase Act (COPA) to allow nonprofits to "jump the line" in property sales, creating "90 days of red tape" that effectively blocks homeowners from selling on the open market.

Controversial "Tenant Tsar" Appointment

Mamdani has stood by his appointment of Cea Weaver as Executive Director of the Mayor’s Office to Protect Tenants. Weaver has faced intense scrutiny for resurfaced social media posts in which she:

Labeled homeownership a "weapon of white supremacy".
Called for the government to "seize private property".
Suggested white families would need to have a "different relationship with property" as it transitions to a "collective good".
