Chicago Mayor calls jails, incarceration and law enforcement a sickness that needs to be eradicated

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, a self-identified Black Lives Matter activist, made headlines during a news conference when he made the statements in response to President Donald Trump's plan to deploy the National Guard to Chicago.

Chicago, which was given the title of 'm*rder capital of the world' for four straight years, has seen over 400 homicides this year.

Polls show 86% of African American and 82% of Hispanic communities want more police officers on the streets, directly opposing Mayor Johnson's plan to rid the city of law enforcement.

"I've been saying we need to bring back political assissinations. I don’t feel bad, and I don’t think that everyone deserves the right to free speech."

"I think some people should be afraid to express their opinion in public."

She referenced Mao Zedong's essay "On the People's Democratic Dictatorship," arguing that free speech should be limited for "reactionaries, imperialists, and capitalists," and claimed her professor agreed with her views after class.

When Xu was put on blast, she responded by deleting the video, privatizing her social media accounts and going offline.

Imagine, in America, a Muslim mayor telling a Christian resident that he's not welcome in his own city.

A Christian resident in Dearborn, MI spoke at a City Council meeting to oppose new street signs honoring Arab American News publisher Osama Siblani, comparing them to naming a road “Hezbollah Street or Hamas Street.”

In response, the city’s mayor told him:
“You are a bigot, and you are racist, and you’re an Islamophobe."
"Although you live here, I want you to know as mayor, you are not welcome here. And the day you move out of the city will be the day that I launch a parade celebrating the fact that you moved out of this city.”
