Zohran Mamdani met privately with rich business owners, and tried to convince them to stay in New York City

Zohran Mamdani met privately with rich business owners, and reportedly tried to convince them to stay in New York City after his "tax the rich" push led to corporations moving to lower-tax states like Texas and Florida.

The Socialist Mayor metwith JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon and Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon as he tries to soothe business leaders who are angry over his policies.

He reached out - unsuccessfully - to Citadel CEO Ken Griffin who halted a business venture in the city after Mamdani filmed a 'Tax Day' video promotion in front of Ken Griffin's Manhattan penthouse.

Griffin called the video a "personal attack," "creepy and weird," and "frightening," and said it showed a "profound lack of judgment." Citadel is expanding in Miami and shifting investments away from New York in response.

Mamdani has also met with Blackstone's Jonathan Gray and Bank of America executives.

Dimon highlighted that New York City has the highest corporate and personal income taxes, and warned a repeat of the 1970's - when about half of 125 Fortune 500 companies left NYC due to taxes, rents, and costs - is on the horizon calling Mamdani's policies "a disaster for a city."
