The son of the Louisiana judge set to preside over the gang rape of LSU student

The son of the Louisiana judge set to preside over the gang r*pe of LSU student Madison Brooks, is a convicted serial rapist who attacked multiple girls including classmates, and the judge herself once represented him in court.

"The judge’s son was accused of rape a while back, so she knows to help us,” and that she would be “really good for our case.”

Judge Gail Horne Ray is set to handle the Aug. 17 trial of Desmond Carter, 21, one of the men charged in connection with the January 2023 assault on Brooks.

Taylor was previously released on parole but was arrested in 2024 on an obscenity charge involving exposing himself to a hotel maid.
In July of this year he returned to court, trying to get the forcible rape convictions and sentences set aside, arguing unresolved issues with a 2001 motion.

Ray served as one of her son’s defense attorneys.

Questions about her impartiality in the Brooks case intensified after defendant Casen Carver texted his dad saying the judge’s “son was accused of rape a while back, so she knows to help us,” and that she would be “really good for our case.”
