Issa Shahin - was appointed to the position by Mayor Abdullah Hammoud in December 2021 and was speaking at an event focused on community diversity
He started his remarks with the Arabic phrase "Hamdullah. Hamdullah," translating to "All praise is due to Allah."

The chief highlighted that Arab and M*slim officers now make up about 45% of the Dearborn Police Department, an increase from 3% a decade ago.
